Residents of Sacramento have created what appears to be a small village in front of the District Attorney’s office. While some of the trappings of protest seem typical, what I did not expect was the atmosphere: it felt like more of a cookout than a protest. They were warm and inviting when I approached them. This is they’re 19th week occupying this space.
